James Berry, co-founder of Symphony, announced the launch of a new platform that allows users to earn transferable travel points or cash interest on their savings, aiming to disrupt the stagnant savings account industry. Symphony offers a fixed 5% APY, with users able to choose a customizable split between cash and points.
“Symphony, for those that don't know, very simply, it's the first kind of savings app where you can earn points on your savings, like credit card points.”
“Users can expect to a fixed 5% API, and then they can choose how they would like to earn that 5%. So you can earn it, any combination, so you can do all cash, all points, or any mix in between.”
“Essentially, to us, like the mission is that we see this growing trend in society, especially among the younger generations, where it seems like every new financial product, everything that's coming out right now, is all towards incentivizing gambling, spending more.”
