Evan Smith, CEO of Altana, stated that the tariffs implemented were intended to bring manufacturing jobs back to the United States, but this has not happened. He noted that companies have found surprising ways to circumvent these regulations.
“All those tariffs, for example, were supposed to bring manufacturing jobs back to the United States. So I asked Evan directly, did it happen? Spoiler alert, you will not be surprised to hear him say no.”
