Chris Crone of Santa Cruz, California, shares his experience of traveling across the US 11 times on a Greyhound bus, beginning in 1977. He recounts an incident in 1977 involving a snowstorm in Pittsburgh and a more notable event in 1980 where he and friends were detained in Mississippi with marijuana in their car.
“What I think is interesting in my crossing is 11 times on a Greyhound bus.”
“The one that really stands out was when we had a quarter pound of marijuana on our way to New Orleans in our big Buick Wildcat.”
“We ended up in jail. And our friend ended up driving around looking for the judge and finding all of our travelers check while the quarter pound of dope was still in the trunk, never to be found by anyone in the police department in Mississippi.”
