Scott Galloway believes the US will maintain its lead in AI, despite China's rapid advancements and strategies like 'fast following' through distillation. He notes that while China is investing in custom silicon and efficient models, the US remains dominant in model provision globally, citing OpenAI, Google, and Meta as key players.
“I would bet on the US position overall. You know, the US is the model provider of choice across, you know, OpenAI, Google, Meta, Anthropic, AIX, like if you look at the global diffusion of these models, there are just not that many countries and companies that are really taking you know, outside of the startups that are really excited about the Chinese ecosystem. Um, America is still really dominant here.”
“But I think the question is, how far can China compete outside of its own borders?”
