Samer Abu Hamad's initial plan was to bike from the Boston area to Patagonia, a trip that took a year and evolved into a three-and-a-half-year global journey. He chose to start from his front door in Boston for logistical ease and as a testing ground.
“Yeah, so in 2022, I left my home in the Boston area with my bicycle. And my plan at the time was just to bike to Patagonia and get to the southern point of Argentina. And that ended up taking a year. And that turned into a three and a half year trip where I biked across all the continents except Antarctica.”
“Or Boston to Argentina. I like the idea of leaving, leaving from my front door. It made it logistically easy to just like leave from my front door, no flights. And also part of it was, hey, like if I cross the US first, it's kind of a nice testing ground for my trip. You know, I'm in familiar territory, everyone speaks English.”
