Chris Christensen commented that the downtown area of Richmond, Virginia, near the convention center, is not the most scenic part of the city. He contrasted it with other neighborhoods like Church Hill and areas between Church Hill and the river, which feature bookshops and brick-lined streets, as well as up-and-coming neighborhoods.
“I was staying downtown near the convention center. And that's probably the least pretty part of Richmond.”
“It is definitely not the prettiest part of Richmond. Unless you're going to something in the convention center. I wouldn't recommend staying there.”
“Versus Church Hill, which we mentioned, which is lovely, and the area down between there and the river, which has bookshops and brickline streets. And then there's some even prettier and interesting up and coming neighborhoods out in the other direction.”
