Doug shared an anecdote about trying to 'optimize' his late-night snack habit, specifically eating cereal. He attempted to make it colder by adding ice cream, but concluded this was 'over optimization' that did not work.
“You know, sometimes late at night, you just need something cold and crunchy. Like you're just, and usually the answer to that is cereal, right? Like, it's tough to beat a bowl of cereal. Like 10 o'clock at night.”
“Well, I do it healthy. I do cinnamon toast crunch.”
“You want cold. How about we make it colder? Throw the ice cream in there. Oh, really? Turns out that's over optimization. That doesn't work.”
