Consumer prices in the US saw a modest increase of a tenth of a percent in July, mirroring economists' expectations. Core CPI, which excludes volatile food and energy prices, also rose by two tenths of a percent month-over-month, aligning with forecasts. Year-over-year, CPI increased by 3.4%, and core CPI rose by 2.5%.
“And after an unexpected decline in June, consumer prices rose modestly in July, up a tenth of a percent after dropping four tenths of a percent in June. That is right in line with estimates.”
