Chef Flynn McGarry attributes his self-assurance to early exposure to scrutiny, which has made him comfortable with failure and the absence of a clear career blueprint. He notes that while initial ambitions focused on accolades, his current definition of success is tied to realizing his vision and the successful execution of his projects.
“I think kind of like having always had that scrutiny, and it just makes you so much more comfort even in failing, and like even in making some bad you know, ideas and having a vision is what got me this far and like sticking to it.”
“But I also think that a big thing about kind of doing anything young is that there is no blueprint. And as much as I have tried to find a blueprint or talk to people to give me some sort of like insight, it was always met with like, You've gotten to where you are in such a unique way that I cannot give you any advice, right”
“And I think that gives you a sense of security, because you know, it's like the security of there is no security, And like, I think that's just what I've always felt very comfortable in.”
