Anthropic announced that its Claude models will embed imperceptible watermarks directly into generated text and include C2PA metadata in supported files. This move aims to comply with the EU AI Act and address concerns about AI-generated content, though users express skepticism about the effectiveness of text-based watermarking.
“Generated text will carry embedded watermarks and generated files will include digitally signed provenance metadata where supported. The company said in a help document published on Monday.”
