Khabib Nurmagomedov shared that before moving to Makhachkala, his father built a gym in their home in a village. His father trained all the local kids who wanted to join, with the sounds of training sessions being among Khabib's earliest memories.
“In the village, we had a gym right inside our house. My father, he built a gym at home, and he was training all the local village kids right there.”
“Anyone who wanted to come. A lot of kids came to him.”
“Those are my first conscious memories. I was maybe five, six years old at that time.”
