Mina Faimi clarified that Sandbar does not use Whisperflow, but rather a combination of proprietary and partner models for transcription and dictation. He highlighted the seamless integration within iOS, allowing for quiet, on-the-go voice input without app switching, and noted its cross-platform capability for dictating into laptops.
“So we use different models on the back end for a combination of transcription directly to stream and then the third pillar, which is dictation, which is the ability to type into any app.”
“This is basically replaced my phone's keyboard. And then the other thing that you saw, which is a little bit harder to demo over a video call, is if I put my phone down and then now I'm on my laptop, I can immediately start dictating and my words will just flow into my laptop.”
