Morgan suggests that Chase credit cards are a good starting point for beginners in the points and miles hobby, while American Express and Citi cards are more suited for those looking to advance to more complex redemptions. She notes that while Amex's transfer partners might seem daunting initially, they become manageable with practice.
“I like to to organize Chase's kind of super beginner friendly. And MX would be more immediate and advanced, obviously, just because the transfer partners look so different than most people from a beginner standpoint would look to just because there's so many different foreign programs that sound complicated, they're really not once you get the hang of it.”
“So if you feel like you've kind of moved into the intermediate level and are looking to do some redemptions, MX is great option for moving into next as well as City, Capital One, some of the other ones too.”
