When asked about traveling with friends who don't have enough points, Greg suggests he would likely modify accommodation plans rather than have friends pay exorbitant cash rates. Nick agrees, mentioning he'd look for good deals or suggest buying points if available at a good rate, like with Choice Privileges.
“Probably. I, I'm not sure, you know, I haven't had that situation, but I can't imagine, uh, of traveling with friends and going, you know, well, I'm gonna stay at the Park Hyatt because it's cheap for me on points. So, you know, you get to pay $2,000 a night. I wouldn't do that.”
“I think more likely I'd just look for a really good deal of some sort and look to stack things to get a great portal rate or something of that sort on a place that was sort of in an agreeable range for everybody. And hopefully, a really good deal. And or buy points. I mean when points are on sale, that particular situation just came to mind. It was a Choice Privilege property and so I also pointed out that if she wanted to stay the same place, she could just buy the points and here's how you could do it and book the same place.”
