The demolition of Mexican artist Juan O'Gorman's unique home, Casa Cueva, by museum administrator Helena Scobedo has ignited debate within the art community. O'Gorman claimed Scobedo destroyed the house, built on a lava bed and inspired by organic architecture, out of ignorance, despite her alleged verbal promise to preserve it. This incident is believed by some to have contributed to O'Gorman's later depression and suicide.
