While acknowledging the importance of hardware, Anthropic expresses concerns about the lack of safeguards in open-weight models and the potential for misuse, advocating for caution.
“Instead of signing onto that letter, released his own letter, and in this letter, couple good points made, right? One of them I really agree with, which is that hardware is very important to this whole thing.”
“But then he has to write about how open weight models are very dangerous because they don't have safeguards, and you need to trust us, and what about bioweapons and cyber attacks and whatnot.”
