Matt Moore, co-founder and CTO of ChainGuard, discusses the company's evolution from a secure container platform to a comprehensive secure software supply chain service. ChainGuard is expanding its offerings to include virtual machines, language libraries, GitHub actions, and agent skills to address the growing threat landscape.
“So we started with containers. ChainGuard on the whole, like, we sort of want to give folks a safe way of consuming whatever open source they're writing.”
“So we have rapidly expanded beyond containers. We started targeting VMs and language libraries a bit over a year ago, and then at our most recent user conference, we announced that we were expanding into hardened actions and hardened agent skills.”
“So part of the way I look at it is by building things from source, we're actually able to eliminate entire classes of vulnerabilities that come from trusting those public artifact registries.”
