Doug Casey argued that the US military budget of a trillion dollars, and proposed increases, is bankrupting the nation. He stated that having 800 provocative bases worldwide is not defensive and acts as 'missile magnets,' questioning the effectiveness of US foreign policy and military presence.
“No, I don't think it's true. Because the military budget of the US is a trillion dollars. And Trump is trying to raise it to a trillion and a half. So, it's actually bankrupting the US, which is not helping the US at all.”
“Uh, the purpose of a military in a civil society is to defend it from attack. And having 800 provocative bases all over the world is not defending it from attack. They're acting as missile magnets right now.”
