Justine Moore discusses the rapid rise of AI micro-dramas, noting that the market in China is already larger than its domestic box office. She explains that these short, dramatic, vertical videos are well-suited for AI generation due to their often limited casts and sets, with the storyline being the primary draw for audiences.
“So I describe microdramas as um, almost like the TikTok-ified version of soap operas.”
“And so I think a lot of folks looked at that and said, this sort of content is sort of a perfect fit for what we can do with AI models today.”
“And then I later found out the girl who's actually in the microdrama, it is a true story. And the whole story came to light.”
