Camille Claudel's brother, Paul, a renowned writer and diplomat, played a significant role in her tragic end. Despite Camille being the 'favorite' of their father, her mother was opposed to her artistic pursuits. Paul later described his sister as 'crazy' and, along with their mother, signed her into an asylum, deliberately excluding her from family affairs, even her father's funeral.
