Despite the name 'Full Self-Driving' (FSD), Tesla's system does not enable a car to drive itself. According to an expert, the company intentionally avoids using the term 'self-driving' in official communications to evade liability. This branding contributes to user confusion about the system's actual capabilities.
“The name itself is technically a misnomer.”
“The system is still considered a level two driver assistance system. It's not a fully autonomous system.”
“And the FTC is already investigating Tesla for deceptive advertising.”
