Carl Heinz Martins, who faithfully delivered letters to the Bridegroom's Oak for 20 years, found a letter addressed to him among the mail for the tree. The letter, from a woman who saw him on TV, led to a romance that culminated in their wedding under the same oak tree.
“And so then, one day, while carrying letters up to the tree, he saw one that was addressed to himself.”
“The two fall in love. And before he marries her, he takes her to visit his mother for her approval. She says yes. And they get married under the branches of the Bridegroom's Oak.”
