Ed Yardeni contrasts his view with strategists from HSBC, who warned in May that US Treasuries entering the 'danger zone' as yields approached 5%. He notes that risk assets have largely recovered despite this warning.
“HSBC back in May said that, uh, if, uh, bond yields approach 5%, we're entering the danger zone. That's what they said.”
“Strategists from HSBC, called, US Treasuries are now firmly in the danger zone. Uh, even further into the danger zone likely leading to risk assets temporarily lower. This was back in May. Uh, risk assets have grinded sideways, maybe temporarily lower, but then recovered.”
