While it's too early to definitively say if AI is displacing jobs, there's emerging evidence of AI contributing to job creation. Specifically, the construction of AI data centers and related infrastructure has led to job growth in specialty contracting and non-residential construction.
“Too early to look for that. But we did see evidence at AI as adding jobs because there were twenty two thousand construction jobs added, and about nineteen thousand of those were in areas adjacent to building AI, data centers, non residential construction, specialty contractors and things like that. And then you had another four to six thousand jobs in com and semiconductor manufacturing. So those were some of the positive areas in this job's report and they're definitely linked to AI. But too early to say, well, I didn't look at the actually jobs for stockbrokers, but too early to say that AI is having a big effect on them.”
