Viktor Shvets discusses a significant shift in US Supreme Court rulings, which have effectively sidelined most federal institutions by vesting all executive power in the president. However, the Supreme Court has carved out an exception for the Federal Reserve, preserving its independence.
“In other words, back in 2024, there was an argument that US Constitution basically vests. All the executive power in the president and therefore, 100 years of evolution of the United States. where by there was independent bureaucracy, independent institutions, all of that is unconstitutional.”
“But they did make an exception for the Federal Reserve.”
“But what did happen is that US Supreme Court did cover out a niche for Federal Reserve. That basically means that Federal Reserve remain the only independent institution in the United States.”
