President Trump stated that the US has a good relationship with Japan and is always there to help when they need financial assistance, particularly concerning their weakening yen. He acknowledged Japan's past actions, with the exception of Pearl Harbor, as being 'very good to us'.
“We have a good relationship with Japan. We're very strong, very, very strong financially. And they are, you know, they have a weakening yen. And they wanted a little bit of help. And we're always there for Japan.”
