First Phosphate has been selected as one of three companies to participate in Quebec's new fast-track program for mining project approvals. This initiative aims to streamline the bureaucratic process by coordinating various government ministries involved in permitting and mine development. The program is designed to expedite the environmental impact study and other necessary approvals.
“Yes, so it's it's important to to note that uh, Quebec is is a province, it's like a state in the US and so there's obviously the provincial state government if you will and then there's the federal government.”
“So we are subject to the environmental impact study on the Quebec level, which would be on the state level. And on that level, uh, the Quebec government has introduced a fast track program for their approvals. And there were three companies that were selected for that. First Phosphate was one of the three.”
“And it creates a central point where you are dispatched to all those agencies within the government. And so information is coordinated, it moves faster, the government bodies are talking with each other, and they have the explicit goal of, you know, basically, um, expediting the bureaucratic process of getting that done.”
