Nizim suggests that to truly impress Italian hosts with food appreciation, using effusive language is key. While 'buono' and 'delizioso' are good, 'spettacolare' or even just 'spettacolo' is a favorite in Rome, eliciting pride and happiness from the chefs and servers.
“Food wise, you would always use buono, not ballo. So bo bicimo is like even more delicious, delicioso is delicious. Obviously words are very very similar.”
“But then the one. I prefer to use is spit taco laradi spectacular and here in Rome you can even just say spit tacoo and they get very very proud.”
“Like basically, the more effusive the word, the prouder and happier they'll be. And so something like spittacolare they will definitely not expect from a visitor and it will make them very very happy.”
