There is renewed buzz about a potential relaunch of the social network MySpace, fueled by comments from its owners in a recent documentary. Joanna Stern suggests that nostalgia and a widespread distrust of major social media platforms, which often feature algorithmic feeds rather than chronological ones, could drive interest in a revived MySpace.
“MySpace owners hint at a relaunch of the early odd social network.”
“Well first of all, I think there's a nostalgia, right?”
“I think of course there's huge distrust of the big social media companies and so maybe there's some hope that like we're hearing here, maybe there'll be a version of chronological feeds and this return to people just that you know.”
