“In particular because one of the things that I have felt is very unique about opening AI is there's a research lab that accidentally built like the biggest consumer technology product of all time. But it seems like you're saying there's actually a real historical precedent for that and that the DNA of Google was was very similar to the DNA of opening AI which I never really made that connection consciously before.”
“And I think it's also really interesting because investing in basically PhDs doing long-term research that may have no practical purpose is not usually something that pays off in venture, venture capital. It's more like Stanford dropout, you know?”
“And so and so maybe it's one of those things where usually that's not a good bet, but if you're really dealing with a truly new technology paradigm, it could be the best bet you ever make. Is that how you think about it?”
