Chris Hutchins and Amy Fox discuss the challenges of choosing a vacation destination when having many options and points/credits to use. They found that the abundance of choices, or 'golden handcuffs,' made narrowing down a trip more difficult.
“I love that you say it felt like there were restrictions of where we could go given weather and climate and all of that because I think going through the process with you, we both felt like there were too many options despite having these restrictions.”
“And so it felt kind of tricky to narrow it down, okay, do we want to take some kind of super relaxing island vibe trip? Do we want to go to a different part of Europe? Do we want to go explore the mountains somewhere?”
“It definitely was. We've talked about it before, the golden handcuffs that a lot of us end up being in because we optimize so much that now we have, in a great way, all these credits to use and free night certs and all of that. But we ended up in a place where we were like, how do we actually try to use all of the things that we have available to us before they expire?”
