Blue Sky CEO Tony Schneider described the company as having two core components: the Blue Sky social media app and the underlying AT Protocol. The protocol is designed to enable a wide range of interoperable social experiences, with over a thousand apps already built upon it.
“So Blue Sky today is really two things. There's the Blue Sky app, which is what a lot of people are familiar with.”
“But more importantly, underneath Blue Sky is a open protocol called At Protocol. And Blue Sky is only one of now over a thousand apps built on that protocol.”
“And the whole point of Blue Sky was to demonstrate that this open protocol could scale and attract other builders, building lots of apps, lots of social experiences that all interoperate and connect with each other.”
