Leopold Asbraener, a prominent investor in the AI trade, is reportedly seeking to raise capital as his market position is unwinding. News emerged that his firm had to sell off its public and private market positions, with Ken Griffin of Citadel reportedly stepping in to buy assets at a low point.
“Um, yeah, obviously, we've been talking about the AI trade unwinding over the last few weeks here. Um, and it's obviously starting to hit the big dog.”
“Um, yeah, basically they they had to sell off their whole public markets' position. I think some of their private markets too, like Antrophic and everything. And, you know, first off, it came out that it was just a single buyer. Um, and lone behold, the legend himself, Ken Griffin, Ken Griffin, Citadel, came in and, yeah, bought the lows, once again.”
“Feels to me like that's a pretty meaningful signal. At least, I don't know if I'd say that we're going to be, you know, obviously we saw the reversion higher as the big uh, the big buyer/seller was was taken out of the market. And everybody coming back into the trade today, pretty big rotations back into long duration tech and everything.”
