Brian Shiff details Anduril's expansion into autonomous platforms, including a codevelopment program for an autonomous submarine with the Royal Australian Navy and winning a contract for a loyal wingman fighter jet against major defense contractors. The company has also developed counter-drone technologies, including jamming systems and surface-to-air missiles, to address threats from quadcopters and Iranian drones.
“So, you know, from there we extended into counter drone technologies. So this was things like, you know, great, we've got this technology that detects things on the ground, how do we upgrade the radar, upgrade the camera, add in some additional sensors so we can very robustly identify and track any drone incursions that are happening.”
“And then we've really expanded out into autonomous platforms. So this was everything from smaller drones into, you know, we did a codevelopment program with the Royal Australian Navy to make a school bus sized autonomous submarine.”
“Uh, we won a competition to do a loyal wingman fighter jet. So this is something we, you know, beat out Lockheed and Northrup and Boeing.”
