Ethereum celebrated its 11th anniversary on July 30th, reflecting on its journey from a 33-cent asset to nearly $2,000. Concurrently, the Ethereum Foundation appointed Pascal Kavrishakio, a privacy and security expert, to its board, granting him significant governance influence equivalent to existing board members.
“It's hard to believe it's already been 11 years. On July 30th, 2015, we launched Ethereum from a small scrappy office in Berlin. So much has changed since then.”
“Pascal Kavrishakio, I believe. This is a pseudo-anonymous name. So I guess if I get the pronunciation wrong, it's probably no big deal because this is a pseudonym.”
“This is the first new person in addition to Aya and Vitalik. And so like this person has an equivalent amount of governance over the Ethereum Foundation as Vitalik. On paper, on paper, on paper.”
