Richard Smith anticipates a significant rally in the US dollar, stating that assets priced in dollars will face price pressure. He connects this to a 54-year Kondratiev cycle from the 1972 dollar reset and ongoing global discussions about the dollar's role and US Treasuries.
“I think I probably said back then because I've been saying for a while that we'd be seeing major rally in the US dollar.”
“So, especially things that are priced in dollars, right, are going to be seeing price pressure.”
“And so we are 54 years, which is the Kandrav cycle away from 1972, which was the big uh US dollar reset back then, right?”
“And here we are again uh having a global debate over the role of the US dollar and US treasuries uh in the global economy and whether or not you know the world wants to keep doing that for another half century or whether or not there's going to be some some new system.”
