On the Schooner Heritage, most of the crew members were new for the season, with only one having sailed with the group the previous year. They had limited on-sea experience before their first passenger cruise in June, having only practiced docking maneuvers. Despite this, the host noted their impressive coordination and choreography while sailing.
“So lots of motion going on, being coordinated. And it wasn't until I was about three days into the trip that I learned that Claire is the only one who had sailed with this crew last year. And everyone else was new to the ship this year.”
“And they hadn't gone out on the boat and done any of these things at sea until their first cruise. Their first cruise with passengers in June.”
“But it was amazing when you watch the choreography that was going on to think that they had just become a crew within the last month or so, when I was there, not much longer than that.”
