Chris Whalen, referencing insights from John D'Amico, warns of potential diesel and fertilizer shortages in the upcoming fall. D'Amico's analysis indicates that shortages of crucial inputs like sulfur, used in fertilizer production, are likely. Whalen suggests the Trump administration is not adequately addressing these issues.
“So, what he's saying is that we are going to have shortages of diesel, shortages of fertilizer this fall.”
“Uh, the Trump administration refuses to even talk about it, including members of Congress, by the way.”
“So, we're just going to kind of slide into labor day and September. And when people see fertilizer prices rising dramatically because we can't get the inputs we need, sulfur primarily, to make fertilizer. Um, maybe people will figure it out.”
