Economist Predicts Slower Economic Growth in 2027 Due to Iran War Fallout

Economist EJ Antoni revised his 2027 economic growth outlook downwards, citing the significant and still-unfolding fallout from the Iran war. He anticipates continued spikes in consumer prices and expects growth to be in the low twos, down from previous predictions of four or five percent.

Well, I would have given you a much more bullish outlook if you had asked me in February. But you know, unfortunately the the fallout from the Iran war is very very real. It's significant and a lot of it I would say even the majority of it hasn't even hit the economy yet.

That's going to happen in the months to come. And again, you're going to continue to see these these different components of consumer prices individually have their respective spikes as the weeks and months wear on.
