Kai Hoffmann expressed interest in copper opportunities, particularly in South America and the US, mentioning Ivanhoe Electric as a fund holding. He was disappointed that Ivanhoe Electric did not pursue Arizona Senore, which was recently sold to Hudbay, as he saw them as neighbors with potential for a competitive bid.
“Uh, mostly gold and silver. I'd say. Of course, we're looking for copper opportunities. But there are not too many around. Uh, we like what's happening down in South America. We have a few names in the portfolio. I like what's happening in the US. Uh, Ivanhoe Electric is a name we hold in the fund. Uh, which, you know, I was a bit disappointed that they didn't chase Arizona Senore and just saw Alice and Senore over there. Okay. And she was with Arizona Senore. That deal sold, uh, they sold to Hudbay recently. I thought Ivanhoe might come over the top a little bit. Because they're neighbors. Uh, so it was a bit disappointing in that.”
“But, no, gold, silver, copper. Copper, we need some more opportunities. We want them in more positions. Uh, on the copper side.”
