Max Spira, CEO of PANGRAM, emphasized the importance of responsible integration of AI detection tools in educational settings. He believes students should be concerned about using AI for assignments, not the detectors themselves, and aims for PANGRAM to help students learn rather than just face punishment.
“And, you know, should students be worried about these detectors? And I think the answer is, yes, students should be worried. But, you know, they should be worried about actually generating AI text and turning it in.”
“Because, you know, it's not really about the detector itself, it's about the act of cheating.”
“And so, you know, we want to make sure that students are learning the material. And, you know, we're looking at how to best integrate these tools into the classroom environment in a way that, you know, actually helps students learn and doesn't just punish them.”
