Bloomberg reported that OpenAI, in collaboration with an industrial design firm headed by former Apple designer Johnny Ive, is developing a new AI device. The tabletop device is expected to be battery-operated, have no screen, and function as a smart speaker that can personalize content using sensors and potentially a camera.
“And we actually got some details about their first product launch this week, right?”
“Yeah. Bloomberg reported that it's a device that is expected to sit on a tabletop, but like be battery operated, so it can move around. Some sort of smart speaker, no screen. Um, and in essence is, it's chat GPT packed into this device. And supposedly there'll be sensors, um, including potentially a camera maybe that allows it to understand what's in the environment, um, so it can better personalize content as it's responding to to people's prompts.”
