Paul Appleby, CEO of Virtana, states that the rapid investment in AI infrastructure, often termed 'AI factories,' is outpacing the implementation of necessary governance and controls. This oversight increases operational risk for businesses.
“So, you know, there's a wild explosion of investment, um, and AI data centers and, you know, even above and beyond, you know, these AI platforms, um, that, you know, as you said, AI factories, um, that, you know, a phrase that's, you know, bandied about a lot by, you know, the likes of Nvidia and Dell.”
“Um, these these AI factory investments, um, when not seeing the governance that needs to come with the kind of controls, uh, to optimize the, um, the resilience and efficiency of those data centers.”
“So, you know, companies are leaping into investing, you know, yeah, as you said, AI factories, um, you know, the governance and controls, um, aren't running at the same pace as the investments in the infrastructure, which increases risk.”
