Moody's is monitoring the significant debt issuance from technology companies, driven by hyperscaler demand and market willingness to fund. While acknowledging the belief in technology's productivity gains, Moody's is closely watching the capacity of these companies to repay the debt.
“On the one side, there is the demand from the hyperscalers and the issuers of this debt, but on the supply side, the market is willing to fund this.”
“So I think the underlying story here is that both those who are issuing the debt and those who are buying it really believe in this technology.”
“We think that's a chance it will, but we don't know for sure that it will. So that's how we're looking at it, and we're monitoring very closely.”
