Dan Bortolotti explains that PWL Capital has an investment committee with five members, selected by a managed account committee, responsible for implementing overarching investment policies. The committee reviews and approves securities, culls inappropriate ones, and conducts due diligence on fund providers.
“Yes, we do have an investment committee. Dan and I are both committee members.”
“We have a pretty tight committee. We have five members. They are selected by the managed account committee, which is the committee that oversees PWL's overarching policies, and then they also create our overarching policy, and then the investment committee is responsible for implementing those policies.”
“So, for example, if a portfolio manager comes and says, I'd really like to have this security available to me to manage client portfolios. Our research team prepares what's called a know your product report, which is basically due diligence report on that security.”
