James Hammond, host of the Winging It Travel Podcast, shares his travel philosophy inspired by travel bloggers like Nomad Rick. He advocates for adapting to situations and learning from locals and fellow travelers rather than relying solely on online information. Hammond believes that genuine insights and the best experiences come from human connection during travel.
“I got this idea from, uh, Nomad Rick. He's a well-known travel blogger. Uh, and I was listening to some things about if he knew now some stuff that he would advise like if he was going on a big trip, um, some lessons that he'd learned, um, and passed them on because they would be crucial in your journey.”
“So I try to adapt, um, to the situation because you never know who you might meet. And you never know recommendations you get from other locals or other backpackers or whoever's travelling around because, um, these are, this will come into other points I'm going to make, but you really get to know the best things when you talk to people, not when you read it or, you know, sort of going online and try and find out.”
