Ron Butler observes a contrast between the struggling condo market, plagued by oversupply and safety concerns, and the high prices of single-family homes in many regions. He notes that while capital might rotate into single-family homes, record prices present a significant barrier for buyers.

“Uh, classic problems that oversupply, a combination of oversupply and then the curious, uh, unsophisticated way of keeping track of whether the the condo towers will fall down. I mean, that is definitely something that's coming into play.”
“But you have the caveat that the prices are so high. This is record high prices for single family through other than the South and, uh, parts of the Southwest, like Nevada's not doing well. But otherwise, these are record high prices.”
