According to mortgage broker Ron Butler, the housing market is unlikely to see a rebound for at least 18 months, and potentially longer. He attributes this to a combination of high home prices and rising interest rates, which have made it difficult for potential buyers.
“If they're waiting for a market rebound, they better plan on waiting 18 months. And again, that could be longer.”

“Uh, it is very hard in a marketplace where we have some homes that have, you know, we've tracked the 10-year numbers. Uh, this is one of the highest prices point on average in the US today. combined with a, uh, 6% plus rate. Yeah, it's, it's not good news and we're going to it's going to be felt. It's going to be felt and continue to be felt. This is not a pro-housing environment we're in today.”
