Dr. Nomi Prins identifies copper as a strong opportunity, noting its stability and current trading near recent highs, unlike other base metals that have been more impacted by inflation headlines. She predicts a massive supply scarcity for copper, impacting both current and future demand.
“So I think there's value in that. And as you mentioned, copper, definitely value in copper. Copper is held in. It has not been paper traded as much and that's mostly because we think of copper as a base metal, it should be impacted by inflation headlines with respect to its role of signaling economic behavior.”
“But we haven't seen that. We've seen copper stay steady. Reaches highs in May, it's just a little bit below its highs and there are tremendous opportunities in copper and junior copper developers around the world because we are heading into a massive scarcity in supply of copper and for not just future demand, but current demand.”
