Beyond high-profile Trump-related cases, the Supreme Court has steadily moved the law to the right on core conservative legal principles. An example cited is a ruling on the Voting Rights Act where the court decided states cannot draw congressional district maps based on race, a decision critics argue will limit minority voters' ability to elect candidates and could aid Republican gerrymandering.
